KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Planning for the future of your farm.

Keynote Speaker sponsored by: Aurora Co-op

Thursday, November 21, 2019, 1:00 PM
Presented By: Ron Hanson, UNL Professor Emeritus, Planning for the future of your farm. Transitioning to the next generation.

What happens when this will never happen to our family farm happens? Few family operations survive an unexpected change to the management ownership of their farming business as well as a family crisis and remain profitable. Implementing a business management contingency plan for ownership succession and the transition of management control to the next generation is crucial for the farm’s continued success as well as avoiding potential family disputes. Family members must initiate transition planning strategies for their farm to ensure a future when the unexpected might happen. Guidelines and risk management strategies will be shared to help find solutions to accomplish a successful transition so that a family farming legacy continues for future generations.
