2017 Scholarship Winners

Gateway Farm Expo Scholarship

Each year the Kearney Farm Expo scholarship committee receives numerous applications for the graduating high school Gateway Farm Expo Scholarship. This scholarship is available to high school students continuing their education in an agriculture related field.

Hannah Williams is a 2017 graduate of Amherst High School, she plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Animal Science. 
Eli Wolfe is a 2017 graduate of Kearney High School. His plans are to study agriculture at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.  
Michael Douglass is a 2017 graduate of Wilcox-Hildreth. He plans to study Diesel Technology at CCC-Hastings. 
Brittany Reynolds is a 2017 graduate of Broken Bow High School. Brittany plans to attend Fort Hays State University and study Animal Science/Animal Biotechnology.

 
Mariah Rost is a 2017 Graduate of Kearney High School. Mariah will be attending Northwest Missouri State and studying Agriculture.  
Lance Aspegren is a 2017 graduate of Wilcox - Hildreth High School. Lance will be attending Southeast Community College in Beatrice and studying Agribusiness. 
Samantha Luehr is a 2017 graduate of Wood River High School. Samantha will be attending Concordia University and studying Agricultural Education.  
Jason Line is a 2017 graduate of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller High School. Jason will be attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and studying Agriculture.

Marissa Kegley

Marissa Kegley

Marissa is a 2016 graduate from Amherst Public Schools. She will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she will major in Animal Science. She then hopes to be accepted into Iowa State to get her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. 
Alex is a 2016 graduate of Northwest High School. He plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Agricultural Education.  
Sage is a 2016 graduate of Elm Creek Public Schools. She plans to attend either Eastern Wyoming College or Wayne State College where she will major in Veterinary Medicine. 
Jayde is a 2016 graduate of Broken Bow High School. She plans to attend Chadron State College where she will major in Ag Business.  
Anthony is a 2016 graduate of Franklin Public Schools. He plans to attend Southeast Community College in Milford, NE where he will be sponsored by John Deere where he will work upon completing his education. 
Heather is a 2016 graduate of Amherst Public Schools. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and major in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis on Public Policy. She hopes to work for a Congressman or as a lobbyist for an agriculture organization and always have a positive impact on agriculture.

Gateway Agribusiness Scholarship

The Agribusiness scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students attending the University of Nebraska Kearney. These students are studying to enter fields that will directly benefit agriculture in the future. They have attended and volunteered at the Gateway Farm Expo. We look forward to their participation for years to come.

Congratulations to 2016 Agribusiness Scholarship Recipients

Garett is a 2015 graduate of Kearney High School. He is currently a Freshman at the University of Nebraksa-Kearney and is majoring in Agribusiness. Garett's goal after graduation is to secure a job in agriculture that involves working with livestock or return to the family farm. 
Garrett Martin is a graduate of Holdrege High School and plans to graduate from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in May 2016 with a degree in Agribusiness. Garrett's interest in agriculture stems from a strong family background in the industry. His future plans are to become a feed broker with an agricultural organization that has strong core values.
